Some DJs become legends and decide to live off it. Carl Cox isn’t one of them. With more than 30 years in the game, the British DJ is as active as ever, championing club culture wherever he goes.
A pioneer of the UK rave explosion, he hit the charts in the early 90s, but soon headed back to the clubs that raised him and has been wedded to techno ever since. That path led to milestones like the mix F.A.C.T., his label Intec, and a historic 15-season residency in Ibiza, an adventure he picked up again in 2025.
In recent years, he’s thrown himself into live hardware performance, the territory that gave birth to his album Electronic Generations. He’s also put his name to some unexpected collaborations, like “Joya” with Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, which became his go-to closing track throughout 2025.
Between 2000 and 2004, Carl Cox played Sónar five years in a row. He hasn’t been back since… until now. Missing his long-awaited return to the festival simply isn’t an option.
